Pest Control in Peoria, AZ — West Valley's Trusted Pest Protection
Peoria Pest Control, From the Historic Townsite to the Lake Pleasant Foothills
Peoria stretches nearly 180 square miles, from the original 1897 townsite near Washington Street and 83rd Avenue all the way north to Lake Pleasant. That range means two very different pest environments under one city name. Around the historic core and established neighborhoods toward Glendale, aging infrastructure and mature landscaping keep rodent and roach activity steady year-round.
Farther north, master-planned communities like Vistancia push into the foothills of Sunrise Mountain, West Wing Mountain, and the Hieroglyphic Mountains, putting new construction directly against undisturbed desert. Homes here see heavier scorpion pressure from displaced habitat. Lake Pleasant itself, along with Skunk Creek and the Agua Fria and New River washes, also drives seasonal mosquito activity, especially after monsoon storms in July and August.

Community FAQ
Does living near Lake Pleasant mean more mosquitoes?
Yes. The reservoir, along with Skunk Creek and the Agua Fria and New River washes that run through Peoria, holds standing water that drives seasonal mosquito breeding, particularly after monsoon rains in July and August.
Why do Vistancia homes see more scorpions than central Peoria?
Vistancia sits directly against the foothills of Sunrise Mountain and West Wing Mountain. New construction in that undisturbed desert pushes bark scorpions into finished yards far more often than in Peoria's older, more central neighborhoods.
Are older Peoria neighborhoods near the historic townsite prone to different pests?
Yes. Aging infrastructure and mature trees around the original townsite near Washington Street and 83rd Avenue create entry points and moisture that favor roaches and rodents over the scorpion pressure seen farther north.
